I've lost a good chunk of sleep the past couple days because of being so watchful for returning coyotes. The small dog was having coughing problems late last night and then had to go out, so I had the flashlight, the leash and my can full of pennies all set when we ventured out into the yard. It's really stressful when you don't feel a sense of safety in your own yard. I felt a little more at ease when the only thing the flashlight picked up on were a couple rabbits that dart at the smallest sign of another species. Of course that just means we have a buffet setup in the back of the house.
To add in with all that fun, the kitchen sink decides to play "let's not drain the water" today. The baking soda and vinegar mixture didn't help and about 3/4 of a bottle of liquid plumber didn't do a damn thing two hours later. I even went at it with a plunger but with 3 openings, it was just swapping water between them instead of sucking out whatever the clog is. That doesn't mean I didn't get tons of wonderful looking black/grey bits of matter to wipe up though. blech.
While I was dealing with that, Sabrina (small dog) managed to get a bug bite or something in her eye which caused the outside to puff up. dripped some water from a washcloth into her eye and wiped it down a bit then gave her a children's benadryl melty strip to help with any allergic reaction. After a couple hours she was back to normal.
The sink finally drained out and we'll have to get someone to snake it out soon. Almost thinking of investing in one with the number of times this has happened. Most of the afternoon was wasted away dealing with it so I had forgotten to snag the mail. Went out to get it late and as I was coming back in a rabbit jumped out of the bush right in front of me. Scared the hell out of me, but I started to get my senses back when I saw what it was. Of course I assumed I scared it, when *PHOOOOM* out of the bush, nearly nailing me comes a cat. My nerves are about to hire a hitman to take me out. I got inside quick after the cat, not wanting to see what critter was going to rush out next.
I'm hoping this isn't going to keep a solid pace because the coyote alone was enough excitement, I really don't need a constant supply critters coming after me.
